We've been a wood bending workshop since 1946, and today we bend more than just wood. We work for people with an idea that needs to take shape in bent wood, plywood or felt. One person has a product that's ready for production and is looking for someone to make it on time. Another has a sketch and wants to know whether it can actually be done. Below, you'll find the situation you recognise yourself in and what you can expect from us.

You're bringing a new product to market

Your idea has been approved internally. Now it needs to be produced, on time and within the margin you've calculated. You need a partner who puts a quote on the table quickly, does what he promises and doesn't keep you waiting for an answer.

We think along from the very first drawing and stick to the delivery date we agree on. You get a price breakdown you can look into, so you protect your margin and can back up your proposal internally.

We often make one part of a larger whole. We deliver that part to spec and coordinate with your other suppliers. That's how we made the base of the Anza table, not the whole table.

You're looking for a supplier who delivers what he promises

You compare, you line up the numbers, you don't want surprises. A wrong choice means a stock or margin problem, and that lands on your plate.

We put our price openly on the table and deliver predictably. No costs that turn up later, no promises we don't keep.

You design and you're looking for someone who can make it

You have a shape in your head that pushes the limits of the material. You want to know whether it's feasible, which material fits and how the end result feels.

Our craftsmen know plywood, felt and solid wood down to the finish. We draw and test out your design together with you, until the shape is right. You get samples in your hands, technical input and a price indication early in the process, not only at the end.

Frequently asked questions

Is G-Desmet an OEM manufacturer? Yes. We develop and produce bent components in plywood, biomaterials such as hemp and flax, in felt and solid wood, often under our customer's brand name. We do this from prototype to series production, from our sites in Belgium and Romania. That's how we've been working for various furniture brands and manufacturers in and outside Europe since 1946.

Do you also guide product development? Yes. Our engineers get involved from the first idea, sketch or prototype. We calculate what's feasible technically and within budget, and work out the design together with the customer into a production-ready component. For this we use CAD and 3D measuring systems. Which sectors does G-Desmet work for? For the furniture industry, the contract/project market, the sports industry, the transport industry and the leisure market.

Do you supply complete products or also parts? Both. We often make one part of a larger whole and coordinate with your other suppliers.
